DESCRIPTION

This majolica tin-glazed earthenware pitcher from the late 18th to early 19th century comes to us from Italy. Influenced by the art nouveau we see elements like moths and raised beads incorporated on the body of the vase. The beautiful curved shape of the spout highlighted by a pale yellow green is well complemented by the geometric handle. A single frowning head of Mercury with wild locks, two horns and garlanded by snakes is set against the blue and red streaks which cover the entire ewer.
