DESCRIPTION
This Burmese serving vessel was crafted during the late 1700s to the early 1800s. The exterior is adorned in a lustrous black lacquer, reflecting the depth of history and craftsmanship. Gently lifting the lid reveals a contrasting interior, painted with a vivid red pigment. Such offering bowls (Hsun-ok) were used to carry food and other votive gifts to be used in monasteries.
